Yes, we encourage you to bring your own belongings to personalize your unit and truly make it feel like home.
The majority of the units are private studios, each complete with a full bath with walk in shower. Each of our buildings also have two room suites for either couples or someone who wishes to have more space.
Caring Alternatives adopts an aging in place philosophy. When resident's care needs increase, so do the services we provide. Additionally, we contract with additional health care agencies to further enhance the care provided. It is our strong hope that our residents can stay in what is now their home as they age in place.
While most of Assisted Living is paid for privately, there are a few programs that provide assistance.
Long Term Care Insurance – Most policies cover Assisted Living. Consult your insurance company for your particular coverage.
Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit – This is a benefit paid for by the VA to veterans or their surviving spouse. This is paid as an additional pension to a veteran or spouse of a veteran who served during a wartime.
Medicaid Waiver Programs – Contact the Aging and Disability Resource Center in your county for financial limitations for these assistance programs.
Caring Alternatives has one set fee based on room style. There are no additional levels of care costs so you always know what the bottom line is. We include all the care and services provided by our staff in our set monthly fee.
As this is the home of our residents, there are no set visiting hours. Of course, we respect privacy of all of our residents, so we ask that early morning or late night visits be quiet ones.
Caring Alternatives Assisted Living Communities are licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services as Community Based Residential Facilities (CBRF). There are different types of state licensures based on level of care provided. Our facilities are licensed as CNA, meaning that, if needed, we can provide for residents with cognitive impairments and those that are non-ambulatory. We are proud to say our facilities are in very good standing with the state regulators. We serve frail elders and those needing memory care.
Caring Alternatives offers a wide range of therapeutic activities to engage each of our Residents. We look to provide a variety of activities for the spirit, mind and body. We have daily exercise and news review, cognitive activities including brain fitness, spiritual services, baking groups, art therapy and crafts, music therapy including the national Music and Memory program, aromatherapy, gardening, outdoor patio time, family parties, celebration of special days, and outside entertainment or groups coming in. In addition, we provide 1:1 visits by activity staff to ensure that all Residents benefit from our Activity program.
Caring Alternatives Communities are privately owned with the owner present and involved in the day to day operations. Our smaller sized communities enable staff and residents to develop personal relationships. We recognize quality service is directly related to quality employees and provide thorough training to ensure staff are successful.
